OPPORTUNITIES:
Regional Approaches to Climate Change- Pacific Northwest Agriculture (REACCH PNA) is a USDA-funded, multi-institutional project focused on improving the long-term sustainability of agriculture within the region. REACCH partners (University of Idaho, Washington State University, Oregon State University and USDA-ARS) are teaming up to offer a total of 10, 9-week long, undergraduate internships across the three institutions. Internships will go from 6 June – 5 August for the University of Idaho and Washington State University and 13 June – 12 August for Oregon State University. Summer interns will participate in independent research, weekly seminars, and field trips. Interns will receive a salary of $500 per week for the summer internship and a travel budget up to $700. Summer interns will also be provided with University housing, identification cards, access to library, email and internet privileges.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES:
Summaries of the available research projects for summer 2016 may be viewed here (as PDF). In addition to field and laboratory research, the interns will participate in group activities where they will learn about one another’s projects, meet with faculty members from diverse disciplines, attend research and mentoring seminars, and visit research sites and other areas of interest in the region.
APPLICATIONS (Due April 15th):
U.S. citizens, permanent residents and all Non-U.S. Citizens are invited to apply. All college students who are currently enrolled are welcome to apply. Underrepresented groups (i.e., Native Americans, ethnic minorities, and women) are encouraged to submit applications.

- List your top three research projects (view project list here)
- Attach your Letter of Interest indicating your top 3 choices for research projects, previous research experience, and career goals.
- Attach your Curriculum Vitae (or Resume)
- List contact information for 3 references
- In addition to the online application, email one Letter of Recommendation** directly to Marijka@uidaho.edu
**The letter of recommendation can come from one of your 3 references listed.
You will receive a confirmation email from Marijka@uidaho.edu once all of your application materials above are received.
Applications will be evaluated based on their strengths across the criteria listed above. Each mentor will contact interested students from the pool and conduct phone interviews; selected students will be notified electronically by May.
TIMELINE:
April 15: Electronic Applications Due by 5:00 pm Pacific Time
May 6: Selected interns will be notified via email
June 6: Internships will begin for UI and WSU
June 13: Internships will begin for OSU
All applications will be evaluated by the REACCH Internship Committee.
