REACCH Connection:
Kendall joined REACCH as a research assistant to the Extension team. As part of this team she is interpreting the results of REACCH scientists and coordinating with technology specialists to produce mobile applications and web-based resources that will assist regional farmers in making crop management decisions. She is enthusiastic about working with growers to support farming practices that support their livelihood, the soil and the greater ecosystem now and into the future.
Biography:
Kendall has a Masters of Science degree in Soil Science from the University of Idaho. Prior to obtaining a Master’s degree, Kendall worked with several growers in the region through employment with Thorn Creek Native Seed Farm, and with Applied Ecological Services’ Palouse Soil Carbon Project. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Community and International Development at the University of Vermont where she worked closely with Vermont farmers and community organizations that supported the local food system and other rural development projects. Her research as a graduate student involved analyzing soil health and economic potential in organic, reduced-tillage grain cropping systems in the Palouse. Kendall is currently working as a Research Associate with the Agricultural Research Station as well as with the Latah County Soil and Water Conservation District.
